My work is continually referencing back to the beautiful Eucalypt form. I'm entranced by the simple pairing of leaves on the branch, and how they mimic butterflies in the wind. As I explore these forms, they become increasingly abstracted and I move toward balancing the refined form with a more abstract substrate. 
I had a real sense in creating this piece, that it's the elements in life (that less refined substrate) and the mess we cover up, that contributes to the overall beauty of our everyday existence.
