Cath’s large works evoke a deep sense of life and spirit, which beautifully reflect the context of modern Australia.
Cath Knijnenburg (pronounced Kay-nine-en-burg) is a full-time visual artist working from Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast.
After studying both Art and Visual Communication, Cath’s early career was in corporate design and branding, but after years of working in a digital environment, she began to yearn for more tactile projects and organic creative processes as escapism and mindfulness.
With a deep affection for the land around her, and the life that inhabits it, Cath’s works are predominantly flora and fauna based, influenced by the graphic style of her design career. She likes to paint large scale on luxurious Belgian Linen giving the pieces high impact in any given space.
She is passionate about originality and the vibrancy the right piece of art can imbue in a room. Her contemporary work is rapidly gaining popularity with pieces housed in collections throughout Australia, the UK and Germany.
Cath paints from her hinterland studio in Ninderry, Sunshine Coast where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
